Advice on Video Capture Software

I've been pretty busy lately which explains my absence from the blog. I'm working for a new bar that just opened and there are a lot of things that need to be worked out by the owners. In the meantime I'm just tending bar as often as I can and stashing my dough.

Recently, I purchased S.T.A.L.K.E.R. at the recommendation of many others. I don't regret it. It's fun and different. Which brings me to my question: What capture software would you guys recommend? A lot of people seem interested in watching a stream of me playing the game but I don't have any capture software or know anything about where to begin. I honestly haven't begun to look for myself yet but that's just because I need to buy a mic first. It's just one of those things you don't remember you need until you're at home. I guess I could just buy one online. Hmm.

  1. I like using Camtasia. I use that for the videos on my youtube channel...

It's not too difficult to use, has some editing built in, isn't too expensive, and you can find it free depending on your means.

  2. I always used Fraps. It's free if you know where to look.
