Amazing Game

If you're a fan of the NES you'll love this game. It's remarkable, funny and full of cameos everywhere. Check it out and let me know what you think. After I finished the game I realized that I should have done a Let's Play video. Darn.

Makin' Paper

So, I don't know if you guys are familiar with this but I setup mine a little while back and it's pretty okay. It's a solid extra $50 every two weeks which is fine by me. Check it out if you're interested.

Working on Content

I finally picked up a mic and have been working on producing some videos. I think I've got most of the kinks worked out so now it's just a matter of producing something worthwhile. I did a few draft videos but that seems pretty weak at this stage in the game so maybe we'll jump onto that once the new set is released. I can't wait to crack out on some Let's Play Diablo III...

Anything you guys might like to see on YouTube?

The Good News

I'm ready! Promotion!
So, well, yesterday, actually, I was told that I was going to be promoted to bar manager. Pretty sweet. Also, it turns out that the guy who was fired was because he stole a coworkers laptop on camera. Icing on he cake, he was saying that I was talking shit about every to him but they didn't buy it. Glad they chose someone who works hard for them over a heroine smoking thief.

Best of all, I think they're going to be kicking me up to something like $12/hour and I'll be making tips. Fucking score--that's more money than I was making at the Pasty!

I'm off tomorrow so I think I'll head down to Fry's Electronics and pickup a headset combo so I can start doing videos. I want to do some MTGO experimental drafts too just because it seems like no one else is doing that kind of thing. Drafting 3+ color decks is sort of my thing. Caravan Vigil, Traveler's Amulet and Shimmering Grotto make it all pretty damn easy when considering almost everything only costs one colored mana to cast. I haven't pinned down my pick order between the three cards listed above but maybe I can hash that out with the viewers after I get the videos online.

Advice on Video Capture Software

I've been pretty busy lately which explains my absence from the blog. I'm working for a new bar that just opened and there are a lot of things that need to be worked out by the owners. In the meantime I'm just tending bar as often as I can and stashing my dough.

Recently, I purchased S.T.A.L.K.E.R. at the recommendation of many others. I don't regret it. It's fun and different. Which brings me to my question: What capture software would you guys recommend? A lot of people seem interested in watching a stream of me playing the game but I don't have any capture software or know anything about where to begin. I honestly haven't begun to look for myself yet but that's just because I need to buy a mic first. It's just one of those things you don't remember you need until you're at home. I guess I could just buy one online. Hmm.

Trucking right along.

I finally weaseled my way into FFXIV while watching copious amount of Dwarf Fortress Let's Play videos. Just from the videos (which I would recommend watching rather than just diving into the game) I've become very impressed with the depth and detail of the game. It's almost as if I thought something like this wouldn't exist.

Here is my kitty lady Nyanlathotep Black from FFXIV in case you'd like to jump on into Fabul with me and...sew some shirts. I thought it made sense that a kitty would excel in working with various yarn and thread. In a sort of related note, I really should try and get a picture of all of my Khajit Nyanlathoteps from The Elder Scrolls series.

Secret Santa is approaching quickly and I foolishly choose someone I know pretty well and that makes it hard to make a simple gift amazing. I hope I can come up with something because the only idea I have right now is pretty damn weak.

Somebody put me to work.

Introductions are in order, I suppose.

Here is a Chinese dude playing, Ao Oni (translates to Blue Demon/Ogre) a horror game that has been translated in English from it's original Japanese where it was made in a Japanese RPG Maker program. The layers!

So I'm unemployed right now; some might even say that I'm blissfully unemployed. As a result, well, the above happens, but I also played through a game called Which today. It was, uh, purdy coo'. IN 3D!

Here's this guy and this is what I think of him.

Speaking of that guy, I also just downloaded Dwarf Fortress. I'm going to give that a go and get back to you. On the chopping block is also Shogun 2: Total War and Final Fantasy XIV. Hopefully in the very near future I will have the means necessary to start doing video reviews and captures to make this a little more interesting although I prefer to have the actual substance of the review in text. My sister and a good friend suggested that I do Let's Play style video captures because apparently I'm a real character. I'll let you all be the judge.
